Project Overview

The Tully’s inspiration was based on creating a swimming pool that not only they could enjoy as a retirement gift, but to also create a fun-filled family atmosphere.

We designed a pool with enough space and depth for jumping and diving safely and created a lap lane for exercise as well. At the step entry we enlarged the second step (also known as “reef shelf”) for family and friends to wade or lounge. On the reef shelf, we have added an umbrella sleeve for those intensely hot days and also outlined the steps in a glass tile from the PebbleTec Collection. For added fun and ambiance, we added two Arcfalls by Oreq Corporation to the back pool wall which spills upward and outward into the pool.

The spa sits 18″ above the ground, which acts as a great seating area and helps people take advantage of the spectacular view toward the setting sun.

Tully’s pool is controlled by a Hayward Pro Logic system with a handheld remote and a Eco-Star’s variable speed pump which ramps up to a 3 hp rating. In addition to other Hayward components like the ColorLogic lights we added, we have a Sense and Dispense system.  This unit literally reads both the chlorine and pH levels and “dispenses” the appropriate chemicals into the pool as needed providing easy maintenance!

Because the former backyard had concrete deck that had lifted and cracked from surrounding trees, we decided to install an interlocking paver by Belguard so we could avoid cracking issues.  We also added a couple of benches near the house and a fire pit seating area we like to call, “s’mores corner!”  And, to give the pool durability and a nice blue finish, we installed a Bella Blue Pebble Fina by PebbleTec.
