The Rajan Pool
Project Overview
The Rajan’s already had a yard that included a spa and other backyard elements like a patio cover and a barbecue. Their request was to preserve those elements and add a swimming pool. The pool had to be child safe for their two young children, fun to splash around in and also have the means to swim laps.
We ended up with a rectangular pool design which made it more feasible to add an automatic safety cover by cover pools. Due to the yard space, our pool length was not conducive for true lap swimming, so we added a feature by Endless Pools called the Fastlane (other builders and sources generally speak about and install something called a “swim jet”, but there is absolutely no comparison to the Fastlane unit for true resistance training).
Other ideas discussed were lighting and water features. To add some height to the rear wall, we placed a Zodiac Pool Products Laminar jet on either side. These are LED lit streams of water that change color and stream 8 feet high and 8 feet out without break!
The other lighting components are color changing SAM light from Pentair, perimeter fiber optic lighting from Fiberstars and also 100 points of light (all with different intensities) to the floor of the pool (to give that “star floor” effect). The fiber optic lighting is all on a color changing wheel as well.
For final touches, we simply matched the materials and the existing palette of the yard and installed one of the very first Sapphire Galaxy Pebble Fina pools. Train by day and have a light show by night!
