The Halminski Pool
Project Overview
The Halminski’s wanted their swimming pool’s aesthetic to stay true to their surrounding area with a very natural and rustic look and feel. Our design concept for their new construction began with a rectangular pool shape and a spa located at one side of the deep end of the pool. The spa is raised 18 inches, spills into the pool and has six Waterway therapeutic jets.
Opposite the spa at the top of the raised pool wall we balance out the spillway of the spa and create a very natural focal point in the yard by placing a 30 inch wide Custom Cascade. Behind the cascade is an elevated fire-pit with a seating area for fun, marshmallows and ambiance.
The color palette chosen in the natural stacked stone (East/West), the interior pool finish and the straight edged concrete coping all work off of natural grays. The gray finished pool produces a serene and natural elegance that is enhanced by the foliage in the surrounding planters.
To allow for lap swimming and exercise, we divided the shallow end. One side is open as a “lap lane” and the other side has a nice step entry with an enlarged second step, or reef shelf, for relaxing and sun-bathing. The shelf even has an umbrella sleeve!
This natural looking pool is powered by a Hayward Pro Logic system that utilizes a handheld remote for full automation and uses a Hayward EcoStar variable speed pump for circulation.
